Healthcare

St. Pete Free Clinic (SPFC) delivers essential community services, including comprehensive food programs and healthcare support. Their food initiatives—such as the “We Help FRESH” pantry—provide fresh produce, dairy, meat, and hygiene products to individuals and families in need. SPFC also offers primary and specialty medical care, dental services, and no-cost prescription medications.

To support these operations, SPFC required an upgraded cold-storage infrastructure to:
  • Safely store temperature-sensitive medications (e.g., insulin, injectables, select antibiotics).
  • Preserve laboratory samples and reagents for in-house diagnostic testing.
  • Maintain an uninterrupted cold chain to prevent spoilage and ensure product integrity.
  • Expand prescription assistance capacity and increase the number of patients served.

Project Installation SummaryWe completed the installation of a large-scale refrigerated holding cooler and freezer system designed to meet SPFC’s expanding operational needs:

Holding Cooler:
  • Dimensions: 42 ft x 90 ft, 19 ft high
  • Features: One 8 ft x 8.5 ft high-speed sliding door and one personnel access door
  • Equipment: Four evaporators and two condensing units

Freezer:
  • Dimensions: 45 ft x 42 in, 19 ft high
  • Features: One personnel access door
  • Equipment: Two evaporators and two condensing units

This installation enhances SPFC’s storage capacity, improves cold-chain reliability, and supports the clinic’s mission to provide high-quality nutrition and healthcare resources to the community.  The We Help FRESH food pantry provides nutritious food for an average of 40,000 individuals per month.
